Guidelines
Literary submissions for the 2007 edition will be accepted September 1st, 2006 through December 1st, 2006. Visual art submissions for the 2007 edition will be accepted September 1st, 2006 through January 5th, 2007.
At this time, we can only consider publishing the works of students of Florida Atlantic University enrolled during the term of submission. Please check back on a regular basis for any changes in this policy. We recommend reading some prior issues to get an idea of the variety in submissions accepted. Back issues can be picked up on the FAU Boca Raton campus in SO 308 or SO 301. Coastlines only accepts electronic submissions. Please review the guidelines for each genre and submit in the acceptable format(s).
IMPORTANT REMINDER: All e-mail correspondence should include your name, phone number (with area code), and primary e-mail address. All submissions should be accompanied by your student number and affiliation with Florida Atlantic University.
We notify of acceptance status for literary submissions in January of each year. We notify of acceptance status for visual arts in February of each year.
Fiction & Nonfiction (Prose)
All submissions must be proofread and edited prior to submitting. Your intentions may not be clear if there are punctuation, grammar, spelling, and other errors in your submission. Please insert page numbers in all works submitted for consideration and make sure the title of the piece is the first line (centered) on the first page. 1" margins and double-spacing is preferred for all prose (nonfiction and fiction) submissions. We only accept digital formats of all works submitted for consideration and will accept the following:
*.doc (M/S Word 2000 or higher) preferred *.rtf (Rich Text Format)

Poetry
All submissions must be proofread and edited prior to submitting. Your intentions may not be clear if there are punctuation, grammar, spelling, and other errors in your work. We prefer 1" margins and single-spaced lineation in poetry submissions. Double-spacing and other liberties will be considered intentional. For poems over 1 page, please indicate stanza breaks at the top of each page following the first as: [break / no break]. We only accept digital formats of all works submitted for consideration and will accept the following:

Visual Art
All visual art submissions are automatically entered in our Annual Cover Art Contest. We prefer digital formats (electronic scan or clean digital photos) of all works submitted for consideration and will accept the following: *.jpg (preferred) *.bmp
